HKHS Exhibition Centre 1st Anniversary - Happy Community Photo Competition

It has been a fruitful year for HSEC where over 10,000 visitors have set foot in it since the inception in December 2018. To celebrate its first anniversary, HSEC is now inviting members of the Housing Society Community (HSC) to share happy moments in HS estates and other housing projects through the Happy Community Photo Competition and pass on positive energy to our communities.
Participants are encouraged to capture harmonious interactions amongst different generations in the Housing Society neighbourhoods. Besides receiving prizes, winning entries will be exhibited in HSEC for public appreciation.

Photo requirements
- Entries should be digital photos (8 million pixels or above) or colour prints with the size of 8 inch x 10 inch (8R), without white borders.
- A summary of the content should be provided for each entry (within 100 words).
- Entries must be taken at HKHS estates/ properties/ projects.
Application
- Entry forms together with entry photographs should be submitted by hand to the HSEC or any one of the HKHS estates/ property management office, by post (29th Floor, World Trade Centre, 280 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong) or by email ([email protected]) on or before 29 November 2019. Applicants will be notified by phone or email within 3 working days. Late submission will not be accepted. If you submit by post, please allow sufficient time and pay sufficient postage to avoid unnecessary delivery delay. Please mark on the face of the envelope “Happy Community Photo Competition”.

Rules of competition
- Entrants is allowed to submit more than one piece of work.
- Each entry must not be submitted more than one time.
- Entries will not be returned.
- No entry shall display personal information of the entrant.
- Entries may be taken with special lenses. Photo cropping, red-eye removal and adjustments to brightness, contrast or colour saturation are also allowed. However, darkroom techniques and post-production computer processing, including computer-aided colour adjustment, are not allowed. If the judging panel is of the view that an entry has been excessively processed, the entrant will be disqualified and no objection shall be raised.
- Entries must be original and have neither been openly shown or submitted for other competitions.
- The entries must not contain any materials, in whole or in part, owned or controlled by a person or entity other than the entrant.
- Entries that contain any material that is obscene, indecent, defamatory, or content that is in breach of the law of Hong Kong will not be accepted.
- Entrants are responsible for all legal liabilities. Shall their entries violate any laws, the organiser will not be held legally responsible.
- The decision of the judging panel is final, entrants shall not raise any objections to such decisions.
- The organiser has the right to use the entries, in any form of media for demonstration, publication, promotion, exhibition etc, without paying any royalty or remuneration to the entrants.
- The organiser will not be responsible for any damage or loss of the entries submitted by the entrants.
- The organiser reserves the right to amend the rules, prizes and other arrangements of the competition without prior notice.
- Submitting an entry in the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Judging criteria
Winning entries will be selected by the judging panels based on the content, scenic design, creative concepts and technique etc.
Prizes
Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up (one winner/category): HK$2,000, $1,500 and HK$1,000 cash coupon respectively and a certificate
Merit (5 winners/category): HK$500 and a certificate
*In case there is discrepancy between two languages, the Chinese version shall prevail.
